As per Sadhguru, you can cleanse your body through ‘bhuta shuddhi’ – which means to become free from the negative effects of the five elements. There are some simple lifestyle hacks with which you can do bhuta shuddhi in a very natural way. It may not be the ultimate type of bhuta shuddhi, but it can perform cleansing of the five elements.

As per Sadhguru, water has memory. Thus, it’s not just important to cleanse the water of chemical impurities – but it’s also important to drink water that is vibrant and energetic. One tip he shares is to add tulsi or neem leaves in water. Another one the yogi shares is that you should store water in a copper vessel.

Speaking about the air we breathe in, Sadhguru has often mentioned that “it is not just the air that you breathe that affects you – it is the way you keep the air within you”. This means you can go for a walk in nature, once in a while; be it a park or along the lake. The yogi believes that one must take time out and explore outside of confined spaces, especially children. “Even a small hill is a mountain for a child. Even a rock will do. Go climb and sit on one of them. Children will enjoy it immensely and will become fit. You will become fit, your body and mind will function differently, and above all you are in touch with the Creator’s creation which is the most important thing,” noted Sadhguru in an excerpt from one of his writings.

He also mentions that one must “take care of what kind of fire burns within you”. With this, Sadhguru suggests that you should get some sun on your body every day as sunlight is still pure. “Fortunately, nobody can contaminate it. And what kind of fire burns within you – is it the fire of greed, fire of hatred, fire of anger, fire of love or fire of compassion. If you take care of that, you needn’t worry about your physical and mental wellbeing. It gets taken care of,” shared the yogi in his writings.

Last but not the least, speaking about the fifth element space, he mentions that if you keep the other four elements well, akash (space) will take care of itself.
