On special occasions, we feast ourselves with delicacies that taste heavenly at the moment but the next day, these begin hurting our stomach. This is because of the extra oil, fats, carbs, sugar, etc. we have consumed. To prevent damage to health, we need to get rid of these as soon as possible but how can it be done? Ms. Manisha Chopra – Nutritionist, Dietician and Fitness Expert has suggested this 7-day body detoxification diet plan. Read on and follow this chart to flush out all the damaging elements from the body in just a week.

Daily: Boil 1 teaspoon Jeera and 1 teaspoon Carrom Seeds (Ajwain) in 1 L of water. Reduce it to half. Have one cup while having an empty stomach (early morning) and one cup before sleeping.

Monday

  • Early morning: Jeera and Ajwain Water (As mentioned above)
  • Breakfast: Fresh vegetable juice 
  • Recipe: Add carrot, celery, mint, coriander and parsley. Add 1 tablespoon of Chia seeds for extra fibre. Grind it and have it immediately.
  • Mid-Morning: Have one glass of buttermilk. Add curry leaves and Hing to it.
  • Lunch: Variety of raw or lightly steamed vegetables like spinach, beetroot, broccoli, cabbage, capsicum, carrots, onions, garlic and ginger.
  • Evening: A bowl of Papaya
  • Dinner: Vegetable Soup

Tuesday

  • Early morning: Jeera and Ajwain Water (As mentioned before)
  • Breakfast: Fresh vegetable juice
  • Mid-Morning: Coconut water
  • Lunch: Cooked vegetables with three spoons of quinoa and baby spinach salad.
  • Evening: Pomegranate with some lemon squeezed over it
  • Dinner: 2 boiled egg whites with 1 yolk

Wednesday

  • Early morning: Jeera and Ajwain Water
  • Breakfast: 3⁄4 of a cup of natural yoghurt with sliced fresh fruits. Sprinkle Chia seeds, sliced almonds and walnuts with little raw honey. One cup of green tea or herbal tea.
  • Mid-Morning: Have one glass of buttermilk. Add curry leaves and Hing to it.
  • Lunch: Lentil and vegetable stew. 
  • Recipe: Sauté 1⁄2 cup of yellow moong dal, 1 cup of your favourite veggies, small pieces of ginger and garlic. Add 1 teaspoon of extra-virgin oil. Add 2 cups of water. Add salt to taste. Cook slowly till Dal and veggies are done and you can garnish it with coriander and parsley.
  • Evening: Pear
  • Dinner: Raw Papaya and Carrot Salad

Thursday

  • Breakfast: Coconut and Banana Smoothie
  • Recipe: Take hundred grams natural yoghurt or coconut milk, 1 tablespoon of cold-pressed coconut oil and half banana with 1 tablespoon of Chia seeds. Blend the ingredients in a high-speed blender.
  • Mid-Morning: Coconut Water
  • Lunch: One bowl of vegetables with a cup of quinoa 
  • Evening: Boiled sprouts salad
  • Dinner: Lentil and vegetables stew

Saturday

  • Early morning: Jeera and Ajwain Water (As mentioned above)
  • Breakfast: Fresh vegetable juice 
  • Mid-Morning: Have one glass of buttermilk. Add curry leaves and Hing to it.
  • Lunch: Variety of raw or lightly steamed vegetables like spinach, beetroot, broccoli, cabbage, capsicum, carrots, onions, garlic and ginger.
  • Evening: A bowl of Papaya
  • Dinner: Vegetable Soup

Sunday

  • Early morning: Jeera and Ajwain Water
  • Breakfast: Make a fruit compote of dried prunes, apricot, peach and apples pre-soaked in filtered water. Sprinkle flat almonds and 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseeds. Have it with plain yoghurt.
  • Mid-Morning: Coconut Water
  • Lunch: Lentil and vegetable soup with half cup of brown rice
  • Evening: Almonds with Green Tea
  • Dinner: Grilled mushrooms with a green salad and mashed sweet potatoes

Tip: Drink as much water and unsweetened herbal tea as you wish during the day. Aim for at least 8 to 10 glasses of water within a day make a trail of mixed nuts and seeds like walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, melon seeds, Chia seeds and flaxseeds. Eat fruits that have low GI like guava, pear, apple, orange, strawberry, peach, plums and apricots.
