Punjab's Digital Leap: Bhagwant Mann Govt Sets New Standard for Transparency

The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has taken a major leap towards digital governance by introducing e-Registry and e-Jamabandi. This has ushered in a wave of transparency and swiftness in the Revenue Department, enabling property registration and land records services at an easier, faster pace, and entirely accessible from home.

Launched in May 2025 from Mohali, the e-Registry system is now active across Punjab. The facility of online registration of property, digital payment, and approval of documents within 48 hours can now be availed by one and all through this web portal. The state government has also introduced a 'document collection' facility through its 1076 helpline for greater convenience of senior citizens and NRIs who need not stand in queues.

e-Jamabandi, a service introduced in June 2025, has turned out to be a boon for farmers and villagers. Now, one can get a free digitally signed and QR-coded copy of one's land records within a few minutes by accessing easyjamabandi.punjab.gov.in.

Or even through WhatsApp. The process of land mutation- intkal has been made simpler now, with completion within 30 days.

With 99% of Punjab's villages having their land records fully digitized, the role of middlemen and agents has completely disappeared. According to the government, these digital services save citizens over ₹100 crore every year.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said, "Digital transparency is true good governance. We have built an honest system which saves time and money of the people." Punjab has now emerged as a model state for e-governance in India where corruption, bribery, and delays have become things of the past.
