A New Identity for E-Governance in Punjab: Easy Registry and Easy Jamabandi End the Web of Corruption

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has fulfilled its promise of corruption-free governance by bringing historic reforms to the Revenue Department. Two major initiatives,Easy Registry and Easy Jamabandi, have now become symbols of transparency, simplicity, and digital convenience.

EG Registry, launched in Mohali in May 2025, was implemented across Punjab by August 2025. Through this platform, any citizen can now register property online. Stamp duty and fees are paid via an online gateway, and the entire process is completed within 48 hours. Citizens can also call the 1076 helpline to avail of home document collection services. Additionally, registration can now be done at any sub-registrar office across districts, eliminating regional restrictions.

Similarly, the Easy Jamabandi service, launched in June 2025, has simplified processes related to land records for farmers and citizens. People can now obtain digital Jamabandi copies with QR codes and digital signatures via WhatsApp or the easyjamabandi.punjab.gov.in portal. Moreover, mutations (name transfers) are now completed within 30 days.

These initiatives have eliminated the long-standing problems of corruption and delays. So far, 99% of village land records have been digitized, providing relief from time, money, and bribery. These services are especially beneficial for NRIs, senior citizens, and small farmers.

The state government claims that these digital initiatives are saving the public over ₹100 crore annually, and Punjab is emerging as a model state for transparent governance.
