Under the “Punjab Shikya Kranti” launched by the Bhagwant Mann government in 2022, Punjab has witnessed unprecedented transformation in the field of education. The aim of this initiative is to inspire children to realize their dreams and provide them with high-quality education. Under this program, 118 Schools of Eminence have been established with an investment of ₹231.74 crore. These schools are becoming gateways to a bright future for underprivileged children.
These schools are equipped with smart classrooms, science laboratories, libraries, tennis courts, swimming pools, and special instructors for co-curricular activities. They offer free coaching for JEE, NEET, and armed forces entrance exams. Facilities such as free bus service, books, uniforms, and shoes are also provided — especially for girls, ensuring that no child is deprived of education. The success of this initiative is evident from the fact that students from private schools are now seeking admission in these institutions.
265 students have cleared JEE Mains and 44 have qualified JEE Advanced, while 848 students have succeeded in NEET. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has launched a School Mentorship Program, under which civil officers guide and mentor students. In addition, in 19,200 government schools, 25 lakh parents participated in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs), which have received overwhelming support.
The Schools of Eminence have become temples of modern education, preparing children to excel in the technological and competitive world. This initiative is bringing a revolution in Punjab’s education sector, giving every child an opportunity for a bright and promising future.
