Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab is witnessing a historic transformation in the field of employment. The state government has so far provided over 1.5 lakh government, private sector, and contractual jobs to the youth through a completely merit-based and transparent recruitment process. Chief Minister Mann recently stated, “It is a matter of pride for all of us that 54,933 government jobs have been given purely on the basis of merit- no recommendations, no bribes, only hard work and merit.”
The Chief Minister urged the newly recruited youth to serve the people with a missionary spirit. He said that the first and foremost agenda of the government is to empower the youth. “These jobs will change the destiny of Punjab’s youth,” he added.
Between 2022 and 2025, the highest number of recruitments took place in the Education, Health, Police, and Power Departments. In the Education Department, over 2,000 posts were filled, including 725 Special Educators and Master Cadre teachers. The Police Department recruited 1,746 constables, out of which 1,261 were in District Police and 485 in Armed Police. The Power Department (PSPCL) appointed 2,500 Assistant Linemen, with 837 posts reserved for women. The Health Department added over 1,000 medical officers, nurses, and other staff.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that previous governments played with the future of the youth, but now, in Punjab, government jobs are free from bribery and recommendations. He emphasized that Punjab is moving towards a new era of development, integrity, and employment, where hard work is recognized and rewarded with opportunity.
