A New Flight of Education in Punjab: Mann Govt Transforms Teachers into ‘Global Educators’

Under the stewardship of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab is witnessing an "Education Revolution" that is changing the very identity of this State. This revolution isn’t about students only; it's about strengthening the teachers who are very vital to shape the future of our next generation. Since his father, too, was a teacher, Chief Minister Mann believes, "Teaching is not just a profession; it's a mission to build society." Guided by this vision, the government has taken historic steps to ensure world-class training for educators across the State.

A total of 234 principals and education officers have been trained in Singapore, where modern educational management and leadership skills were imparted to them. Further, 152 head teachers were given advanced coaching at IIM Ahmedabad, and 144 primary teachers were trained at Turku University in Finland in specialized teaching methods. The Chief Minister said the next batch of teachers would soon leave for Finland and enhance their skill set and global exposure.

The effect of these global training programs is clearly visible in government schools of Punjab. Classrooms now adopt technology-driven interactive learning, personal engagement with students, and creative teaching methodologies. It has helped in boosting their confidence to a large extent whereby students perceive education as an opportunity for growth rather than mere competition.

Furthermore, the government has hired 1,920 campus managers to reduce the administrative burden on teachers so that they can concentrate fully on teaching. This is one of the reforms making the education system of Punjab efficient, empathetic, and future-ready.

Today, the land of saints and scholars-Punjab-is emerging not just as a hub of educational reform but as a leader in education itself, whereby every teacher shines as a beacon of knowledge and every student represents the ray of a brighter tomorrow.
