Healing should not just be externally but internally as well so as to gain better effects which are more effective. Remedies to treat bruises in kids

Find below some easy and effective ways that can help faster healing of bruises without causing scarring.

Icing Therapy

Ice works wonder to stop the swelling which occurs due to bruising. Take a few ice cubes and cover it with a muslin cloth or a thin towel, even kitchen towel works. Apply it on the bruise to bring immediate relief to the pain and slow down the swelling that could occur after bruising.

Icing Therapy

Using fresh Aloe Vera gel

Aloe Vera has anti-inflammatory properties and can help to reduce the pain from bruising. When applied directly to the wound it accentuates the process of healing and recovering from having a scar. Make sure to use pure and fresh Aloe Vera gel for effective healing.

Essential Oils

Essential Oils like Rosemary & Lavender are beneficial to heal from bruises naturally. Rosemary has anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties and on the other side lavender is known to have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Anyone of the oils can be used to apply on the wound with a clean cotton or cloth to heal the wound naturally.

A few food items has natural healing properties and when consumed it aids in recovering & healing from a bruise quicker with more effective results. Also, external medications works best when supported by a nourishing balanced diet. You must include these food items in the diet, which are as follows:-

Pineapple- It has many impressive health benefits and can be a rich source to recover from a bruise. It’s loaded with nutrients, anti-oxidants and helps in boosting immunity and reduce inflammation. Consumption of this will help in a speedy recovery from any wound.

Citrus Fruits- Citrus fruits such as oranges and lemons, which are rich in anti-oxidants and flavonoids that helps in recovery and healing of bruises.

Diet for healing bruise

Foods with Zinc- Zinc is important for wound healing which helps are immunity to grow stronger and aids our metabolic function. Foods that are enriched with zinc supports the healing from bruise. A few good sources of Zinc will be spinach, whole grains, milk products, red meat, poultry, nuts and seeds.

Include adequate protein- You need protein in your diet to help your body repair the tissues and cells. Ideally, every meal or snack must include a protein to regenerate cells at the bruised part and heals faster. Foods with Vitamin K- Vitamin K is very essential to build proteins that prevents from blood clotting. Consumption of Vitamin K enriched foods helps in recovering and avoids any clotting. A few food sources will be all green leafy vegetables, soya bean, avocado, Green Peas, tomatoes and prunes.
