The Punjab Government is harnessing technology to deliver rapid medical assistance to accident victims. Through a collaboration between the Punjab Police’s Traffic and Road Safety Wing, the State Health Agency (SHA), and Map My India, crucial hospital information under the ‘Farishtey’ scheme is now available via the Mappls mobile app.
In a significant step toward enhancing road safety and emergency healthcare services, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has led the integration of ‘Farishtey Hospitals’ into the Mappls Mobile App. This initiative strengthens emergency response efforts across the state, ensuring quicker access to medical facilities.
According to CM Mann, this development is designed to provide seamless navigation, allowing individuals to swiftly locate the nearest hospital in case of an accident. This, in turn, facilitates the timely transport of injured persons to medical centers for immediate care.
The ‘Farishtey’ scheme, a progressive initiative by the Punjab Government, aims to minimize fatalities and severe injuries caused by road accidents by offering prompt, hassle-free medical treatment. Under this program, both government and private hospitals provide emergency care without complications. Currently, 384 hospitals—including 238 private and 146 state-run medical facilities—have completed the Punjab Farishtey Scheme registration process and are now accessible through the Mappls Mobile App.
