The current situation is not very rosy. The doctors, nurses and medical staff workers are on the frontline, taking care of COVID-19 patients. They are not only coming in direct contact of the novel coronavirus, they are also facing grave conditions due to lack of equipment, extended work shifts, and distancing from families owing to their work profiles. In the case of positive cases, separate isolation rooms have been prepared, which means nurses and doctors risking their lives by going close to the novel virus. Even though the PPE kit is a saviour, the fear of getting infected cannot be explained. Here comes how fearless and challenging the lives of the medical fraternity remains as of now, for them to face the danger of getting transmitted from the deadly virus.

Captain Sandhya's Message To Fraternity

More than anything, it is grit, will power and the empathy required in doctors and nurses to complete care for the COVID-19 patients. Motivating the many healthcare workers, including nurses, Captain Sandhya says, "I wish to reach out to every nurse out there who is taking care of COVID-19 patients and I extend my blessings and my prayers and my wishes to them. Thank you, my dear friends, who are managing the frontline, day in and day out, helping people heal, get well and be back with their families."

Caution Is Required

Captain Sandhya says, "While we take care of these patients, we need to understand that owing to the high transmission rate of COVID-19 patients, there is a need for abundant precautions to be taken by the nurses, healthcare workers, primary medical staff in managing the suspects of COVID-19 as well as COVID-19 positive patients. And we need to understand that apart from using the personal protective essentials like masks, gloves, shoe covers, goggles and other accessories, it is important to follow safe infusion and injection protocol at the same time. Follow the protocol of flushing the lines with pre-fill syringes, needle-free connectors to avoid IV complications in COVID-19 patients and of course preventing blood-stream infections. In these situations, we cannot afford to leave these patients more prone to other diseases and infections."
