Become A Yogi and Do Meditation To Pass The Lockdown Stress Test

Every day we wake up with a hope that things have become better than before and the world is healing from Coronavirus. This does become stressful at times when you live the same routine for weeks and months. Your mind and body start to degrade which needs to be fixed. There is only one thing that can calm your mind and body together is Yoga and meditation.

While most of us get tensed after watching the news of Coronavirus on TV(as the crime and political issues are on a vacay) a Yogi watches the news and slowly heads to the yoga mat and with folded hands bends down to the Surya. The yogi starts the ‘ Surya namaskar(sun salutation). Surya( sun) represents renewed Hope, vigor, strength, prosperity and knowledge. This is because he has control over hid mind and body that stays calm even in the disturbed environment. Celebrity Yoga Instructor and Meditation expert, Paloma Gangopadhyay believes that every individual during the times of darkness should start the day with suryanamaskar which will provide him strength and vitality and belief that we will live and humanity will stand the test of time.

Yoga and Optimal Wellness

The regular practice of yoga opens up the mind and makes us strong not only physically but emotionally as well. Each drop of the sweat during the yoga practice opens up the pores, detoxifying us of all toxic and negative thoughts, the stretching of the body opens up the major joints and works on the flexibility. Being at home all day makes us lazy in body and mind, so practising yoga keeps the body in shape, toned and strong and mind is calm. The sun salutation comprises of movements back and forth, thus stretching the spine, enhancing muscle movement. The Cerebrum is connected to the lumbar spine, and the Surya Namaskar works beautifully strengthening the spine and gives us stress-free thinking. Then the yogi moves into many postures that tend to work on the body, mind and soul, the holistic process.

Deep Breathing for Mind and Body

Deep breathing exercises like anulom vilom pranayam helps to fight Coronavirus as it pumps in fresh oxygenated blood to the lungs which improve the immunity level.
