The deadly Coronavirus outbreak is not leaving anytime soon which seems there is a long way to go. India, though as compared to other nations has a controllable situation thanks to the government’s immediate actions towards prevention. We are lucky to have survived the wrath of this virus which has taken over a million lives all across the globe. Even the powerful and medically-advanced countries like the USA and Italy have become hopeless now. The Lockdown and quarantine have helped the country get hold of this pandemic and prevent its community transmission. The cases are still on the rise but the rate is very less if we compare it with other nations. Amidst the public’s hope of lockdown end, the speculations of the 2-week extension were on the rife. Extension Of Lockdown Till 3 May
- The government has taken the decision to extend the lockdown period till 3rd May.
- All the rules would be the same as they were before. We, the citizens shall abide by all the rules to prevent this outbreak. The government will identify the new hotspots and monitor the existing hotspots.
- PM urged the countrymen to stay safe and contribute in making this lockdown a success.
- States who will show improvement in the condition can be given the permission to start some essential commodities after 20 April. However, they would need to make sure that the preventive steps are been taken care of. The detailed guideline will be issued on 15th April 2020.
The tough time
PM begin by counting the issues that people are facing during this lockdown. He praised the efforts of the countrymen performing their duties towards the nation. Talking about 'We The People Of India' mentioned in the Indian constitution he said, the way we are tackling this tough time together is our collective power. This is harvest festival time of the year which brings merry in the people. Amidst this lockdown, the way citizens are abiding by the law and celebrating the festivals in simplicity is encouraging.

India's Holistic Approach and Measures taken
- Started screening at airports after the outbreak
- Arranged 14-day isolation for people coming from abroad in the initial days
- Malls, theatres and other public places were closed soon after
- After 550 cases only, we imposed 21-day lockdown
- Took immediate steps to control the situation soon after its arrival in the country
- As compared to the developed countries, India is in a very controlled situation
- We have managed to prevent the outbreak to the third stage with holistic and integrated approach

Sanitization On Full Swing
Meanwhile, the sanitization drive is going on in the hotspots of all the states. The state governments are taking the necessary measures to sanitize the hotspots or affected areas to prevent further transmission of coronavirus. In Delhi, 60 machines including 10 hi-tech Japanese machine and drones are being used for the large-scale sanitization drive. This process will help in disinfecting large areas in lesser time to minimize the outbreak and lower down the number of cases.
