The term for kidney stone disease is nephrolithiasis or urolithiasis. It describes how one or more solid pieces or pieces of one or more materials develop and get stuck in the urinary tract. The parts that contribute to the urinary tract include the two kidneys, two ureters, one bladder, and one urethra. This disease can occur in 1% to 15% of the people around the globe. These stones form in the kidney and leave the body with urine. A small stone may move out of the body without causing symptoms of pain and bleeding. When a stone is more than 5 millimetres or 0.2 inches in size, it is hard to move out of the body with the urinary flow. As a result, it can stay in the kidney or get stuck in the ureter. By blocking the ureter, the stone or stones cause difficulty in urination and result in severe pain in the lower back or abdomen. Other symptoms experienced include painful urination, vomiting, and the presence of blood in the urine. Some people may tend to repeated kidney stones. It has been observed that nearly half the people with a kidney stone are most likely to have another one in the next ten years.
Homoeopathy, in this case, can specifically help by ending the tendency of repeated stone formation in the kidneys. The blame for having a kidney stone can be put on a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Several risk factors predispose to the condition. These are high calcium supplements, high urine calcium levels, obesity, certain foods and medicines, lack of taking fluids, conditions such as hyperparathyroidism, and gout. The best way to find out if you have kidney stones is by consulting a doctor if there are symptoms that bother you. Useful blood tests, medical imaging will be advised, and the diagnosis will be reached. The next step after diagnosis is apt treatment. Homoeopathy has treated a lot of cases of kidney stones successfully.
