COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the physical and mental health of people worldwide. In 2020 COVID-19 was an unknown and then it spread with unprecedented speed across the world, disrupting daily life wherever it appeared. The pandemic has caused widespread of several symptoms all over. After damaging social relationships, trust in institutions and in other people came in the vaccines finally.

Although, mitigation measures such as physical distancing, quarantine, and isolation can worsen loneliness, mental health symptoms, withdrawal symptoms, and psychological trauma is relatively less now however, the risk of contacting Covid-19 still remains.

Here are tips and advice that are found useful and one should follow even after both the vaccinations:

  • Have a routine: Keep up with daily routines as far as possible, or make new ones to keep the virus at bay
  • Wake up and sleep at similar times every day
  • Keep up with personal hygiene
  • Eat healthy meals at regular times

Who Can Take The Booster Shot?

Restricting the social contact seems as a long shot in the current situation. Lives are finally getting back on track so it is important to regularise oneself with the covid-19 booster shot. But the question that pops into each one of our heads is who can take the booster shot and when should one take it. It perhaps is necessary to receive a third dose because those first two aren't doing what they do normally in otherwise fit and healthy people. 

The third dose is also necessary if over time the immunity that is received starts to wane because over time it starts to deteriorate or go down. The administration of the booster dose is eligible to everyone who is above 18. Everyone who is above the age of 18 years and have completed 9 months after the administration of the second dose, is eligible for the booster dose.

Where To Book The Slot?

The appointment services and registration for the booster dose can be accessed both online and offline. Just as one did in the first two times via Cowin. Otherwise, one may also get the booster shot by simply using the walk-in facilities. You are supposed to get the chit and simply avail the booster shot. You are also deemed to carry the final certificate of vaccination along. 

So far, the cumulative Covid-19 vaccine doses that have been administered in India crossed 191 crore on Monday.

Dos and Donts You Must Follow Before Taking Your Booster Shot

  • Drink a lot of water
  • Eat a well-balanced diet
  • Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep
  • Do some light exercise or physical activity
  • Continue with Covid-19 appropriate behaviour
  • Avoid alcohol and tobacco
  • Do not delay your talk with the doctor if you still experience Covid-19 symptoms
  • Avoid heavy physical activity for at least 2-3 days post your vaccination
