According to doctors, most of the employed people sleep less than 7 hours, due to which they are at increased risk of many dangerous diseases.
Do you sleep less than 7 hours daily? If yes, then you should be careful. As recent research by scientists reported that most of the youth over the age of twenty are getting only 5 hours of sleep on average nowadays, which can be dangerous for their health in the long run. Lack of sleep affects both your mental and physical health. Scientists have also reported some diseases, which are increasing (in people) due to poor sleep. Let us tell you the essentials and dangers of this research.
Scientists say that if you do not get enough sleep, the first disadvantage to it is that your mental health deteriorates. The second disadvantage is that your weight starts to increase or decrease rapidly (as it affects your body's process of storing fat). This is the reason that obesity is becoming a major problem worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) has also warned many times that if obesity is not controlled, by 2025 the number of people dying of diseases such as diabetes, heart attack, high blood pressure, cancer will increase manifold.
What does the research say?
This research was done on 15 people who used to sleep 5 hours daily. All of them were around 20 years of age. Scientists found that the amount of triglyceride-containing lipoproteins in the blood of all of these people increased significantly due to frequent poor sleep, causing dangerous fatty plaques to accumulate in their arteries. This research has been published in the Journal of Lipid Research.
