We spoke to Dermatologist Dr. Anubhav Gupta from Yashoda Hospital, Kanpur to know about some grooming skin care tips for men. He explained that since everyone has a different skin texture and appearance, not every product or natural ingredient suits the other one. Here are some factors that affect grooming techniques in men. 

Genetics- A person might have a dry or dull skin because of their genes. Some men may might even have skin conditions like atopic dermatitis. 

Hormones- Fluctuations in hormones can trigger you and breakout the acnes in the dry skin. People of all sexes actually can have some problems, which can be especially evident in men. 


Medication or underlying health condition- Some men may not have a very glowing skin just because of medical conditions they are suffering from. Even medications can make skin dry and prevent glowing skin in men. 

Environmental Factors- Another factor that plays a crucial role is temperature and moisture in the air, it may have a negative impact on skin. 

Daily routine- How you treat your body also affects your skin. Water intake, sleep, less stress and exercise are important factors that determine your skin nourishment and health.

Cleansing the skin after waking up in the morning, before going to sleep and shedding some sweat can be useful in order achieve glowing skin in men. Pat it through a clean towel afterwards.

Moisturize your skin at daily intervals in order to get a good skin texture and glowing skin. Oil-free moisturizers are best for people with oily skin. People with dry skin may prefer applying something heavier than oils and butters.

Sunlight contains UV light that affects skin of both men and women. It can cause sun damage and visible signs of aging. Applying some light cream or putting a face mask and goggles on while going out can protect a major part of your face.  

4. Improve shaving technique 

Men have to shave on a regular basis in order to keep themselves clean and tidy. Shaving means hair removal from skin that might cause irritation, ingrown hair or a shaving rash. Therefore, to achieve a healthy sort of skin, you need to follow these steps-
