Out of all the fitness icons of the Indian film industry, the one who tops the list is none other than Shah Rukh Khan aka King Khan of Bollywood. He has established himself as an ace actor not just in India but also abroad so that people want to follow his footsteps.
At 58 years of age, his fitness levels are unmatched! Which is why we all love to keep an eye on his diet and fitness secrets. In a recent interview given to a British daily journal, Shah Rukh shares about what he eats and his workout regime to maintain peak fitness levels. Let’s know them here in this article.
Eating One Meal A Day
Yes, the superstar only takes one meal in an entire day! He also tags this as a personal choice that has nothing to do with any specific diet plan.
One-meal-a-day or OMAD diet is a type of intermittent fasting wherein the person only eats one meal throughout the day. This is also referred to as the 23:1 intermittent fasting window where you eat only for an hour and then don’t consume calories the entire day.

Pros and Cons of OMAD Diet
It is believed that one meal a day diet helps in faster weight loss by limiting calorie intake. Also, you can have any food of your choice in the eating window which makes it convenient to now put any food off-limits.
Talking about risks of this diet plan, many research shows that people may feel fatigued or low on energy for not eating any calories for 23 hours. It may also cause weakness, reduced blood sugar levels and feelings of hunger.

While this may sound easy, let us tell you that King Khan doesn’t care about what time it is when it comes to working out. He reveals that sometimes he even hits the gym at 3 in the morning when he returns from a hectic shoot day. He highlights that even after a long, tiring at work, he manages to work out for half-an-hour before going to sleep.
Considering his busy schedule and active lifestyle, we can say that whatever he does, is under the guidance of medical experts. No one should follow his routine without consulting a doctor. People with any existing medical condition should speak to their doctor or nutritionist before following any diet or particular exercise to understand its pros and cons for their health and body.
