Ignoring The Red Flags
Nobody gains weight in a spur of time, it is always a gradual process. People who do not take it seriously have to bear the consequences and that is exactly what happened with Kuljeet. There were many instances that hinted towards weight gain but she rubbished them. For example, Kuljeet shared that once she couldn’t fit into the seat belt of aeroplane seat. When people used to say- you have gained weight, she would make an excuse to be a mother of a toddler. Had she taken these alarms seriously, she wouldn’t have to face what she went through because of her weight later.
PCOS and Autoimmune Failure
While weight gain is not directly associated with autoimmune diseases, weight gain is a sign of underlying autoimmune disease. Kuljeet Kaur was diagnosed with PCOS after giving birth to her son. Obesity is one of the prominent risk factors for PCOS and when it is not controlled, it can harm health adversely. Kuljeet got many treatments to aid PCOS but nothing really worked for her. Later, she got diagnosed with an autoimmune condition that internally makes you weak by targetting the defence mechanism of the body. Together, these two made Kuljeet’s life difficult.
The psychological impact of weight gain
If you think weight gain affects only externally, you are wrong! Ignorance can hamper you physically, mentally and emotionally. You must have seen people breaking down because of unwanted weight gain. But what happened in Kuljeet’s case was, she didn’t realise that her weight gain is making her mentally weak. That was after consulting a doctor, she found out about her anxiety issues and that she is at the initial stage of depression! Imagine someone is dealing with depression and not knowing about it.

How Kuljeet Lost 46 Kgs Weight?
This is indeed interesting to find that someone lost a whopping 46 kilos weight that too without crash dieting! Yes, she did not take up any specific diet plan such as intermittent fasting, keto diet, low-carb diet, etc. All she did was control her diet and become physically active(something that she wasn’t before).
Father became her mentor
Surprisingly, Kuljeet’s father is a health coach! Yes, you read that right. Her father is a fitness expert who has helped many people regain their fit selves. Considering the past experience, he thought that she is going to give up in a few weeks just like how she did in the past. But to his surprise, Kuljeet was determined to lose weight this time. She promised herself to become a better version. She did not set any particular aim for weight loss but focused on gradual progress.
Weight Loss Diet
It is hard to believe but Kuljeet did not follow any strict diet course. She just started a healthy diet plan by monitoring what she eats and in what proportions. Anything that is healthy is okay to eat be it salads or a full-fledged thali meal. She ensures to drink a glass of warm water immediately after waking up. Also, she does not skip meals that people generally do to escalate weight loss. This is not healthy as it can make you calorie-deficient and anaemic.

Weight loss exercise
To achieve something, start with baby steps. Kuljeet started her fitness journey with walking followed by running and cardio. For someone who was not physically active, these can be turntables. Slowly and steadily, increase your pace and workout timing, the results would be surely worth it.
In a nutshell, Kuljeet did nothing grand but small steps that helped her in larger gains. If she hadn’t been determined to lose weight, it would have been impossible for her to achieve this goal of 46 kilos weight loss. She has set an example for many.
