Taking regular dental appointments are always beneficial but sometimes having a dental treatment may leave undesired effects on teeth. Fillings are done by a dentist to remove cavity from the tooth, this process involves creating a hole in the tooth which needs to be filled by a chemical. In some cases this filling is not done properly or it breaks after sometime which results to sensitivity. Today we will discuss about some home remedies that can be used to reduce pain that occurs because of sensitivity.


Home Remedies to Cavity Induced Pain After Filling

Here is what you can do to reduce pain in your teeth if your filling is creating issues and inducing pain. 

1. Hydrogen peroxide Mouthwash

This is an antiseptic mouthwash that is available in your nearest stores and can be used to reduce sensitivity. Broken fillings can induce pain as the gums of the teeth get exposed. Hydrogen peroxide is used as a disinfectant that can keep the bacteria away which can reduce pain that occurs because of inflammation. This mouthwash can also heal you gums and prevent bacterial infections. You can also make this solution at home-

  • Add 2 caps of hydrogen peroxide to warm water
  • Intake the solution in your mouth for 30 seconds
  • Rinse your mouth properly with the solution
  • Spit the solution out
  • Now rinse your mouth with warm water to remove any remaining hydrogen peroxide particles


2. Salt Water Rinse

Salt is a very effective tool to reduce pain and sensitivity from the teeth. Salt water is used to treat many conditions including sensitivity and pain. This reduces inflammation because of its antiseptic properties and reduces pain from the teeth and gums. Salt water rinse can be an effective way if done properly.

  • Add half table spoon of salt in warm water and mix it well
  • Swish the salt water solution in your mouth for 30 seconds
  • Now spit out the solution from mouth
  • Do this 2-3 times in a day.

3. Turmeric

Turmeric has a variety of benefits. It can be used to treat many ailments where there is inflammation. It is used in our daily households as an ingredient for cooking but in case of sensitivity, it can also help to heal pain. Turmeric contains curcumin that is anti-inflammatory and possesses anti-bacterial property which is beneficial for this condition. Filling that induces pain and inflammation can be treated by having turmeric with milk, in vegetables or as a supplement for induce healing process. 


4. Honey and Warm Water
