Black cumin seeds to ease breathing problems

In order to get ease from breathing problems, take few black cumin seeds and tie them in a thin cloth. Use this for inhaling in order to get instant relief. Moreover, you can also add a few drops of pine oil and eucalyptus oil in hot water and inhale its vapour to get relief from sinus symptoms.

Apply olive oil around your nose

Apply olive oil around your nose and eyes to prevent running nose. This will also help in clearing the blockage of your nose.

Hot and cold compresses for sinus inflation

In case you are suffering from sinus inflation and swelling, apply hot and cold compresses in the region around the nose.

Onion and garlic for sinus treatment

Pungent foods like onion and garlic prove to be highly beneficial in sinus treatment. You can begin by taking a small amount of these foods and increase them gradually. You can also add a generous amount of these foods in your regular meals.

The saline solution can be prepared at home by mixing one teaspoon of common salt in a half litre of warm water and adding a pinch of baking soda. The patient should sniff the solution through one nostril closing the other with a thumb and blow the nose gently to drain out the mucus.

Inhale the steam of hot water

Inhaling the steam of hot water from a vaporizer four to five times a day helps to thin the mucous, draining it out from the nasal passages. This is one of the simplest home remedies for sinus infection.

Eat mangoes

Take mangoes in generous amounts during summer. These are rich in Vitamin A and help to build a strong epithelium layer preventing sinusitis infections. It is a very popular sinus infection home remedy.

Warm water and apple cider vinegar for a sinus infection

In a glass of warm water, add two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and drink it. Carry on with this treatment for 2-3 times a day.

Vegetable juices for a sinus infection

Drinking a mixture of carrot, beet, cucumber and spinach juices is good for you. Mix 100ml of cucumber and beet juice to 300ml of carrot juice and drink to get best results.

Eucalyptus oil for a sinus infection

Add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to hot water and inhale the steam for 10-15 minutes; this drains out the mucus from the nasal passages.

Drink hot soup for treating a sinus infection

Drinking hot soup with a few pieces of garlic is an effective sinusitis home remedy.

Fenugreek seeds for sinus treatment

You can take the help of fenugreek seeds for the treatment of sinus. Boil a teaspoon of these seeds in about 250 ml of water till it reduces to half. Consume four cups of it in order to get relief from severe fever due to sinus as it makes you perspire and removes the toxic substances the body. There are certain things that should be avoided during the treatment of sinus. These are listed below:

  • Perfumes and scented oils should be completely avoided and natural air fresheners should be preferred over artificial ones

  • Avoid taking bath with cold water and take a hot water shower instead. It will help in opening of the blocked nose
