Ringworm, despite its name, is caused by a fungal infection rather than a worm. It spreads very quickly to all body parts and is a very contagious skin ailment that can affect the scalp, torso, feet, and groyne. While medication and assistance from a dermatologist is required to entirely eradicate ringworm, there are a number of excellent home remedies that can assist relieve symptoms and aid in the healing process.

The antifungal and antibacterial effects of tea tree oil are well documented. Apply a few drops of tea tree oil to the afflicted region after diluting it with a carrier oil (such as coconut oil). Allow it to sit for several hours or overnight before rinsing. Repeat this method every day until the ringworm is gone.

Garlic

“Garlic contains antifungal effects by nature. Make a paste with a few garlic cloves and apply it immediately to the affected region. Cover it with a bandage or cloth and leave it on for a few hours before removing it. Repeat this procedure on a daily basis,” Dr Chaudahry demonstrated.

Turmeric

“Turmeric contains curcumin, which has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Mix turmeric powder with water or coconut oil to create a paste and apply it to the ringworm. Leave it on for 30 minutes, then rinse off. Repeat a few times a day,” Dr Chaudhary suggested.
