Men and women between the age of 55 to 80 years were included in this study. Michael Wheeler, Ph.D. Candidate and lead author of the study, employed at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne, Australia, and the lead author of the study, said, "Traditionally the health effects of workouts and sedentary lifestyle have been studied separately. We did this study because we wanted to know if there is a combination of these behaviors on blood pressure can have a free effect".

BP of people doing fewer workouts
Researchers found that women and men who exercised in the morning had lower average blood pressure, especially systolic, than those who did not do morning workouts. At the same time, those women who exercised in the morning and took breaks at constant intervals during work showed a significant reduction in mean systolic blood pressure.
Women got more benefits
Wheeler stated, "A decrease in average systolic blood pressure for men and women who take breaks during work as well as performed workouts can reduce the risk of death from heart diseases and stroke. However, this decrease is more in women".
