Ganguly was a left-hand batsman and was called to be the God of the Off-Site on the field. Ganguly makes his cricket debut in 1989 in Bengal, played Ranji trophy in 1990-1991 and made an international debut in 1992. However, at international entry, he didn't make a mark in the starting year with his bat and was having an arrogant behavior. He was then dropped from the international team but after his amazing performance in Duleep trophy, he was called back in 1995-96.
After he comes back, he amazed everyone with his performance which made his position fixed in the Indian Cricket Team. He was made the captain of the Indian team in the 2000s when the team was in great crisis. After this, his career reaches a great zenith.
Sourav saw a lot of ups and downs in his career. He was continually scrutinized on a fitness basis but he proves all the blames to be wrong with his own style. - Ganguly although having a busy schedule has a perfect fitness regime. He maintains a running habit in the morning since his cricket times and still uses to run for 40 minutes every day.
- He has to travel a lot because of his presidentship of cricket association and other works. Still, he maintains a physical workout schedule whenever free.
- He performs different cardio and weight exercises for an hour for 3-4 times a week. Cardio and weight training exercise were one of the most important parts of the daily fitness schedule during his cricket career. Maintaining such a thing is a remarkable step.
- He is today known for his fit and toned body.
Sourav Ganguly's Diet
- Sourav's preference for the diet is low carbs and high protein. He takes cornflakes 3-4 times a week in the breakfast and generally maintains distance from high fat and carbohydrate foods.
- He uses to take a lot of fruits an different types of nuts every day to keep himself energetic and strong.
- Taking away nuts and fruits with him, when stepping out is his preference.
- Another being the habit of keeping himself hydrated. In an interview, he told me that for being healthy and fit not just workout matters but a good amount of water and healthy liquid kinds of stuff is also important as it will remove all the toxicity and keeps up alive every moment.
- Sourav is known to be very foodie but choosing the right diet became his preference as being a sports person
