Global Training for Teachers Gives Punjab’s Education a New Flight

Teacher training is helping students gain modern and inspiring education
In Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s “Punjab Shikya Kranti” has brought a major transformation not only for students but also for teachers. Bhagwant Mann himself is the son of a teacher, and he believes that “Teaching is not just a profession, but a mission to brighten the future of students.” With this vision, teachers in Punjab are being given opportunities to receive advanced training at prestigious institutions in India and abroad.

So far, 234 principals and education officers have received world-class training in Singapore, while 152 head teachers have undergone advanced coaching at IIM Ahmedabad. In addition, 144 primary teachers have completed specialized teaching training at the University of Turku, Finland. The Chief Minister shared that another batch of teachers will soon depart for Finland, further enhancing their expertise and global exposure.

These global training programs are directly benefiting students across Punjab. Teachers’ new perspectives, interactive teaching methods, technology-based classrooms, and personal engagement with students have transformed the environment of government schools. Now, children are more confident and view education not as a burden, but as an opportunity.

To help teachers focus entirely on their core duty of teaching, the government has appointed 1,920 campus managers. This initiative has reduced administrative workload, allowing teachers to dedicate more time to students.

The land of Gurus and Saints, Punjab, is once again becoming a leader in education reform and excellence — a state where every teacher is a lamp of knowledge, and every student a ray of the future.
