Eleven months, that’s how long it took Chaitali Rana to completely transform her life, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. From weighing 83 kg to a lean, energised 60 kg, her journey is a living example of where the power of grit, consistency, and the power of believing in oneself can take you to.

The editorial teeam of Onlymyhealth, got in touch with Chaitali exclusively where she poured out her emotions and secrets to this amazing transformation. Like many, Chaitali’s journey didn’t begin with a number on the scale, instead it kicked in with a feeling. We asked her what exactly did she feel was missing or wanted in her life that sparked this determination and she shared, “I wanted to feel healthier and more confident in my own skin. I realised that making positive changes would not only improve my physical health but also boost my mental well-being.”

When we think of fat to fit stories, generally the inspiration is to fit into a certain category or body type or smaller clothes, however, for Chaitali, this wasn’t just about that. She expressed that it was about taking ownership of her life, choosing health, and rewriting the story she told herself every day.

“My Fat To Fit Journey Was Full Of Cravings”

The path to transformation was anything but easy. The most challenging thing is to not eat your favourite food and that’s what happened with Chaitali. She recalled how she faced cravings, time constraints, and days when motivation ran dry.

“Staying consistent, managing cravings, and balancing everything with a busy lifestyle were some of the biggest challenges. There were days I felt discouraged, but pushing through those moments helped me keep moving forward,” she recalled.

What got her through was a blend of inner resolve and external support. She found strength in a fitness community and guidance through personalized plans crafted by a dedicated coach. “Staying consistent made all the difference.” She also handed out some first hand inspiration to the people who want to embark on a weight loss journey. “If you’re starting out, trust the process and keep going, results will come!” she affirmed.

Chaitali’s Game Plan For Weight Loss

Chaitali’s routine was simple but powerful. She dedicated 30 minutes each morning to a mix of strength training and cardio. Her diet was clean which helped her stay energised throughout the day. She started of with protein-rich foods like eggs and chicken, and plenty of vegetables to stay on track.

“Pairing my workouts with the right food really helped me stay consistent and energised throughout my transformation,” she explained.

She also told us that her discipline wasn’t about perfection. She had her share of bad days too, but she found out that acknowledging that and telling herself that “setbacks are normal and part of the process” helped her get going. Instead of quitting, she chose to reset and return to her goals with even greater determination.

Emotional Benefits of Losing 23 Kilos

“I have more energy, confidence, and a healthier mindset. Everyday tasks feel easier, and I’m more motivated to keep improving,” she beamed. Weight loss wasn’t the only change in her life and what truly transformed was her relationship with herself.

“For the first time, I wear the clothes I love without second-guessing myself,” she told us emotionally. 

“The judgmental stares and unsolicited comments are a thing of the past. My smile today isn’t just from shedding 23 kilograms, it’s from reclaiming my joy, my confidence, and my voice. If I could I would go back in time and do this a little early on because I am in love with this version of mine and no one deserves to be unhappy with their skin or body.

A Message For Everyone Reading This

To anyone standing at the beginning of their own journey, unsure and overwhelmed, Chaitali offers this heartfelt advice. She said, “Be patient and consistent, real change takes time. Focus on building healthy habits you can stick with, not quick fixes. Believe in yourself and trust the process because I did this without compromising of my favourite foods. Trust me, you’ve got this!”
