Strong hair is considered as a sign of good health. As a visible feature of appearance, it can also be a vital element of the identity for many people.

Hair fall, dandruff, split, frizzy hair, and baldness are some of the most prevalent difficulties that individuals suffer daily and ayurveda has answers for all of these issues. Generally ayurvedic treatments have no side effects and they help to strengthen the hair and make it more resistant to breakage.

Ayurvedic remedies have been used for centuries to promote hair health and growth. These ancient remedies are based on a holistic approach to wellness, which takes into account the body, mind, and spirit. Ayurvedic remedies seek to balance the body’s energies and restore a sense of harmony and wellbeing.

In an interaction with the OnlyMyHealth editorial team, Dr Ganesh Chaudhary, an ayurveda expert from Bihar, suggested some ayurvedic remedies that can help you promote hair health.

Herbal Oils

Herbal oils are an excellent way to promote hair health. Coconut, almond, brahmi and amla oil are particularly beneficial for strengthening hair follicles and stimulating growth. Massage a few drops of these oils into your scalp and leave it overnight for best results.

Homemade Masks

Homemade masks are also an effective way to nourish your scalp and hair. These masks may contain ingredients such as, aloe vera, neem, heena, honey, and amla. These ingredients help to nourish the scalp and hair follicles, and can also help to reduce dandruff and other scalp issues.

Herbs

Certain herbs and teas can also promote hair health. Bhringraj is an ayurvedic herb that is known to stimulate hair growth. Rosemary and fenugreek are also beneficial for promoting hair health.

Hair Massage

Weekly scalp massages using oils like sesame, coconut, or almond can help stimulate the scalp, reduce dandruff, strengthen hair roots, and nourish the hair shaft. Furthermore, scalp massage promotes restful sleep and reduces stress, all of which are beneficial for hair growth.

Neem

Neem can be used to treat hair loss because it strengthens hair roots and promotes blood circulation in the scalp. It helps your hair in a variety of ways, including combating dryness, dandruff, and eczema. To achieve the desired outcomes, wash your hair with neem-infused water.

Aromatherapy

Some experts suggest aromatherapy is the method to get relief from stress and strengthen the hair follicle. Sandalwood, chamomile, cedarwood aromas are used to bring a calming effect.

According to a study conducted in 2021, essential oils such as ylang ylang and rosemary may stimulate hair follicles, but there is little proof that aromatherapy has a direct effect on hair development.

In addition to using these remedies, it is important to follow a healthy lifestyle to promote hair health. Eating a balanced diet that is rich in essential vitamins and minerals, exercising regularly, and managing stress can all help to promote healthy hair growth.
