Many people start their day with a cup of tea. This becomes a habit with time. But if someone is drinking Aparajita tea daily, is it bad or good for them? How will the body react? Let’s find out.

“Aparajita tea, also known as butterfly pea tea, is made from the dried blue flowers of the Clitoria ternatea. It is popular for its bright blue color and natural health benefits,” shares Ms Raj.

She continues, “When you drink this tea daily in moderate amounts, it may support overall health because it is rich in antioxidants called anthocyanins, which help protect the body from damage caused by free radicals. These antioxidants may support brain health, improve memory, and help reduce stress. Some individuals benefit from improving skin health because antioxidants can support collagen and reduce signs of ageing.”

What Are The Benefits Of Aparajita Tea?

As per a small 2018 study, consuming a drink containing butterfly pea flower extract increases antioxidant levels and reduces blood sugar and insulin levels. Moreover, another animal research discovered that administering butterfly pea flower extract to rats who had diabetes for 28 days notably reduced their blood sugar levels. Instead, the levels of certain antioxidants and liver proteins in them increased. On this note, Ms Raj lists down the benefits of drinking Aparajita tea daily:

  • It may also help in managing blood sugar levels, as some small studies suggest it can improve insulin sensitivity.
  • It may support heart health by helping reduce inflammation and improving blood circulation.
  • The tea is naturally caffeine-free, so it can help people relax and sleep better without disturbing their sleep cycle.
  • Some people use it to support digestion, reduce bloating, and help with mild detox because it has mild diuretic properties.
  • It is also known in traditional medicine systems for its calming and memory-supporting effects.
