Recently, she took to her Instagram account and posted about a 3-step guide to curb sugar cravings. It is common to wake up at 3 am at night to fulfil your sugar craving, with a piece of chocolate or donut. Well, along with cold weather, winter season comes with a wide variety of sugary foods as well. Delicious warm winter foods such as gajak, rewadi and jaggery are very beneficial options to consume in this season, but can increase your sugar intake. In fact, even without being season specific, there are several sweet foods that we crave for almost daily.
Mouth watering sweets such as donuts, cakes, etc make us easy targets of weight gain. But, the intake of excessive calories and sugars is not good for our overall health. It can result in massive weight gain, which can cause many other health complications such as diabetes, high blood pressure, fatty liver, inflammation and higher risk of cardiovascular problems. There are many situations when hunger and thirst might strike together, leading to excessive sugar cravings. Therefore, it is important to check if your sugar cravings are real or not.
Step 2. Eat a fresh fruit
Fruits are naturally sweet and highly nutritious in nature When you eat a fresh fruit when you are having a sugar craving, the craving will naturally get fulfilled and satisfied. If you will not feel the need to have anything sweet again, it was just a craving or you will also know if you actually wanted to eat something.
Step 3. Defer your decision by 15 minutes
Rujuta Diwekar tells that try not thinking or ignoring your sugar craving for atleast 15 minutes. Making careful and thoughtful decisions is also important.
