Malaria & Dengue Day 2023: Fever Causes, Symptoms and Prevention Guide - Onlymyhealth

How many times have you come home from work, put on your sports shoes, and gone straight to the gym? Probably every other day.

Believe it or not, we are so eager to go to the gym that all we think about is lifting weights. Without a doubt, weightlifting is one of the best activities we can do for ourselves because it helps us build muscles and boost our metabolism. But did you know that your pre-workout routine determines your weight-lifting benefits? So, if you've been struggling to gain muscle or are about to embark on a transformation, let's begin by defining pre-workout and what you can do to speed up the process.

What Is Pre-Workout?

The majority of people associate pre-workout with a powdered supplement that is best for pumping muscle. Pre-workout is the time before you go to the gym or run. Assume you have a set schedule of exercise from six o'clock in the evening to seven o'clock. So, your pre-workout would begin at five o'clock, and your gains would be determined by what you do during this one hour. All of the athletes and bodybuilders you see with six-pack abs invest a significant amount of time in pre-workout preparation because it is the pre-workout preparation that allows them to perform at their peak and build muscles the fastest.

Things To Do In Pre-Workout

1) Consume Carbs

Carbs are our body's primary source of energy. Consuming carbs one hour before a workout helps provide enough energy during the workout, resulting in a nasty pump and less muscle fatigue. The only thing to remember is that you should not overdo carbs and consume 70 percent of your hunger so that by the time you start exercising, they are well-digested in your body.

2) Caffeine Is A Must

Caffeine is one of the most important ingredients to include in your pre-workout. Caffeine consumption not only alerts the brain but also prepares the body for the upcoming shock. The espresso shot is considered best for pre-workout,  and it should be consumed 10 to 15 minutes before exercising.

3) Identify Your Split

Going to the gym and doing what everyone else is doing is one of the worst things you can do for yourself.  Before you go to the gym, make a plan, which should include the target muscle group, main lift, number of sets and repetitions. Having a plan in place before going to the gym not only saves time but also allows you to give your best.

4) Tune-in

Music is an excellent way to distract yourself from worrying thoughts and get into the workout zone. Listening to fitness podcasts or motivational songs not only stimulates the mind but also helps us stay focused. 5) Cold Shower

Taking a shower before a workout not only relieves the muscle tension and tightness but also helps to reduce body odour. Pre-workout hygiene is also very important, so the next time you go to the gym, wear breathable clothing, carry a hand towel, and use a good cologne.
