What Is Innotox, The New Korean Beauty Trend?

The sudden death of actress and model Shefali Jariwala has left many in shock. The untimely demise of the 42-year-old has also sparked a wave of conversations around the growing pressure to meet beauty standards and the rising use of aesthetic procedures. However, it hasn't stopped beauty trends and treatments from continuing to gain traction, especially among younger audiences increasingly influenced by social media and celebrity culture.

One such treatment that has been making waves in the world of cosmetic dermatology is Innotox, a next-generation injectable that’s often dubbed the “liquid Botox”.

We spoke to Dr Sanjib Chowdhury, Consultant Dermatologist, Fortis Hospital, Anandapur, to learn more about this trending product that’s quickly becoming a fixture in beauty circles, especially in South Korea.

What Is Innotox?

1

"Innotox is an injectable treatment made in South Korea that contains botulinum toxin type A," shared Dr Chowdhury, explaining that the substance works by temporarily relaxing facial muscles, reducing contractions that lead to fine lines and wrinkles.

While it is said to have the effect of a botox, Innotox is a completely different formulation. “Unlike traditional Botox, which is shipped as a freeze-dried powder that must be carefully reconstituted with a sterile saline solution before injection, Innotox comes as a pre-mixed, ready-to-inject liquid. This makes it easier to use and far more appealing to non-medical users looking to inject themselves at home,” added Dr Chowdhury.

What’s The Hype Around Innotox?

According to Dr Chowdhury, Innotox is steadily gaining popularity among skincare enthusiasts looking for minimally invasive yet effective anti-ageing solutions. “As a next-generation botulinum toxin, Innotox offers a liquid form, ensuring a smoother application and consistent results without the need for mixing.”

With its unique formulation and impressive efficacy, Innotox stands out as a powerful ally in your skincare routine, especially for those already familiar with Botox treatments.

Effectiveness And Safety Concerns

Innotox has provided highly effective solutions for wrinkle reduction and facial rejuvenation. It stands out due to its liquid formulation and room temperature stability, making it an appealing choice for those seeking practical advantages and quicker results.

However, there are certain side effects Dr Chowdhury wants you to be aware of:

  • Mild redness, swelling, and bruising may occur and usually subside within a few days.
  • Some may experience mild headaches following treatment.
  • Temporary eyelid drooping or facial asymmetry can happen but typically resolves on its own.
  • Allergic responses, difficulty swallowing, or muscle weakness are uncommon but possible.

Conclusion

While Innotox continues to trend as a convenient, easy-to-use product, it's important to remember that all cosmetic treatments come with risks. In a world where social media often sets unrealistic beauty standards, it’s easy to feel the pressure to keep up. But before trying anything new, especially something injectable, it’s best to have an honest conversation with a qualified dermatologist.
