To have a strong ability to exert yourself and still stay active for a longer hours requires a good stamina. Having strong stamina and strength will not only keep you energetic but can also help in combating several injuries and fatigue in a better way. To boost your stamina, there are a bunch of exercises such as jumping jacks, squats, plank, etc, that can be easily done at home.  Not just walking or running, but physical workout includes many other activities like dancing, swimming and aerobics as they are also beneficial for a healthy lifestyle and for improving your stamina. You cannot expect your body to be energetic if you are just lying on the bed all day long and munching unhealthy snacks. This will only lead to several health problems, including heart diseases, diabetes and lethargy as well. 

Both healthy diet and physical workout combine to result in an improved stamina in the body. If your body does not have a good stamina, you will feel inactive and lethargic throughout the day. Exercises to increase stamina

Exercising contributes towards increasing your stamina and overall energy levels of your body with time. Cardiovascular exercises such as running, cycling, aerobics, jogging, and exercises improve your respiratory system and heart as well. After some time, your body's stamina and endurance level improvises. You will feel less tired even after a long exercising session. Exercises that focus on building stamina include push ups, climbing stairs and weight lifting. So, here are 6 simple exercises to increase your stamina:

1. Squats

Squats is one of the best exercises to bring each and every muscle in action at some point of time. The whole body gets into this activity and helps in building your stamina. Just stand on the floor and keep your legs with a small distance apart aligned to your shoulder width. Then, go down very slowly and inhale alongside. Try to keep your back straight and do not let your knees go behind your toes while going down as it defeats the purpose of this exercise. Moreover, remember to tuck your stomach, put your chest out and just keep looking in the front without moving your neck much. Exhale only when you are coming back up.

2. Jumping jacks

Jumping jacks is an exercise that is mostly done during cardio in the gym. It helps in improving your stamina of the body and its overall endurance level. Jumping jacks are an aid for your weight loss regime and also make your body more flexible and improve circulation. You are basically moving against the force of gravity while doing this exercise.This is an intense cardio exercise which can be made more powerful by following repetitions. 

3. Push ups

Push ups is one of the most easy and simple exercises that you can do at home to increase your stamina. It majorly focuses on strengthening the upper body and core. In this exercise, many of your muscles get used up including chest, triceps, biceps, shoulder, legs and back. Just lie down on the floor, specifically on your stomach and put your hands near the chest. Now, lift up your body on the basis of your palms handling all the weight. Hold this position for 10 seconds and repeat this atleast 5-6 times in one go during the beginning days. Increase this count according to your capacity and you will see an improvement in your stamina. If it feels difficult on the floor, then you can also do this with the help of a bench or go for wall pushups.

4. Cycling

Cycling is one of the best exercises that is beneficial for increasing stamina as well as burning fat, and it can be done both outdoors and indoors. There are many mobile phone applications that can help in keeping a track of the cycling time and distance easily. You can have company from your friends and siblings while cycling outdoors.If you are cycling indoors, take care of your posture as the back should be straight and your shoulder should be squeezed in a straight line. Start cycling at a slow pace for around 5 minutes and gradually increase the speed. This is an effective physical activity to increase and build up stamina and strength in the body.

Basically, in this plank pose, you have to lie on your stomach. This exercise can help in improving and building your stamina. Firstly, you have to put pressure on your palms and hold your body, pelvis and knees with its support. Stay on the floor for atleast a minute and remember to keep your feet and knees absolutely straight. Your pelvic area and legs have to be straight as a line. This will also bring positivity and relaxation in your mind. You should not go too low while doing planks as it can cause lower back pain. Going to low while doing planks can also disrupt your alignment and flow. Low planks or Chaturanga Dandasana is a very common and easy exercise but people often make mistakes while doing it.

6. Climbing the stairs

Climbing stairs is an extremely beneficial and powerful exercise for your stamina. Climbing the stairs for a few minutes is as equivalent to running for 10-15 minutes, due to which it is known as a stamina building physical activity. You can rely on this exercise for burning fat, improving metabolism and significant weight loss as well. Get in a habit of choosing the stair over an elevator in your own building and even if you are somewhere else. You can also set an alarm for climbing the stair at any point of time during the day. Make climbing stair a major part of your fitness journey, and you will soon be able to see a drastic change in your body and its stamina.
