There are loads of pre-workout and post-workout drinks that you must have heard of and tried but we bet you didn't know that cherry juice is a great performance booster. It has incredible properties to boost exercise performance if consumed daily. Researchers have found that tart cherry helps improve muscle recovery and reduce fatigue after an intensive exercise. Thus, it enhances exercise performance to bring the desired results.
As per the study featured in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition, consumption of tart cherries increased stamina and endurance of the participants. This also improved their overall exercise performance over time. Philip Chilibeck, a researcher from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada said: “The recovery benefits of tart cherry concentrate are well researched, yet evidence on performance enhancement is scarce and results have been mixed.”
"The results of this meta-analysis found that tart cherries did help improve performance, and we gained greater insight into the potential mechanism responsible for this benefit,” Philip Chilibeck added.
