Coronavirus is seen taking its scary form with each passing day. More than 17 thousand cases have been confirmed so far with over 500 deaths. Despite lockdown, this pandemic doesn’t seem to be getting better. However, social distancing and quarantine have greatly helped in controlling the situation and prevent it from getting worse as it is in China, Italy, the USA and Spain. India is adopting all possible measures to stop Coronavirus community transmission. From dedicated health centers to low-cost testing and now mobile COVID-19 testing van. The capital, New Delhi got its first mobile Coronavirus testing van in the Central district.
The COVID-19 mobile testing van is made in such a way that there is no physical contact between the healthcare worker and the person. The health official protrudes their gloves-covered hands from the glass window to collect the sample. They are being provided with the necessary gear to keep themselves safe.

First Mobile COVID-19 Testing Van In Delhi
Delhi has received its fits mobile Coronavirus testing van in the Central area. It is currently been placed at Chandni Mahal which is the second-biggest hotspot in Delhi. This area is densely populated which increases the chances of transmission. Also, it is near to Nizamuddin and Tughlakabad both of which are also densely populated. Not to forget, most cases arrived after the Tablighi Jamaat held at Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah. Therefore, this van will help in testing the residents at their doorsteps. All the collected samples will be kept in ice boxes until they are taken to the labs for testing.

"We realized that we needed such vans for getting into narrow lanes and for mobility. Many of these containment zones are densely populated areas. We are also using these vans for creating awareness as it has a microphone and a loudspeaker," said Nidhi Srivastava, DM, Central Delhi.
"We keep issuing instructions about how to take precautions about health and hygiene. We have only one van now, but will keep adding in a few days," she added.
