Skin care is one important thing to take note of during monsoons because a good skin can do even without make-up. For a good skin, the first thing to ensure is to eat right during the monsoons and the second thing is to use good beauty products for your skin. Monsoon is a season in which the skin is persecuted under contrasting temperatures and humid weather conditions. As a result, the skin demands extra care and attention. Monsoon is a weather that causes extreme reactions in the skin. While dry skin becomes excessively dehydrated leading to itchiness, oily skin becomes over-hydrated. It is very important to take care of your skin in this stifling climate. If proper skin care is not taken in this squelchy, sopping weather, it can really damage the skin causing fungal infections, allergies etc.
Speaking to Cityplus, Dr. Shobha Sehgal, (Head of Business, VLCC - Day SPA & Beauty Zone) said, for those who get frequently wet need to use non-water based moisturisers to maintain the moisture level of the skin. Even though the skin care routine of scrubbing, toning and moisturising is the same, the ingredients are different for different skin types in monsoons. Face cleansing, Veg-peel, Skin purifying, Organic facial and Fresh Fruit facials are the most popular and recommended monsoon facials. People opt for these treatments to counter the problems that are specific to monsoon. These facials depend on the skin types. It can also be used by men who have to shave daily and thus have hard skin. Different types of skins have different demands. Men who shave daily can go for facials. Regular scrubbing, toning and moisturising is the key to obtain healthy skin. Ideally, facials can be done once in a month.
