According to Ayurveda, there are three vital elements (Doshas) in our body called Vatha, Pitha and Kapha.  These Doshas control all our physical and mental processes and make every living being unique. These Doshas are derived from the Five great elements of nature and their related properties. Vata is composed of Space and Air, Pita of fire and Kapha of Earth and Water. The change in the normal proportion of these three Doshas are the cause of any disease. Cherry fruits are the best for treatment of Kapha Dosha imbalance in our body.

Cherry fruits and cherry fruit juices is widely used for various treatments & therapies. More cherries are included in the diet for the people who want to reduce weight. Sometimes even fasting therapy is provided with cherry juice. Special salads with cherry fruits and vegetables are prepared for the diabetics. In the detoxification diet (that is the diet for wellness) cherries in salads is included. It is also included in fruit platter and in smoothies.

Cherry fruits help in reduce belly fat and it is good for reducing body weight. The anti- oxidant properties of Cherry fruit prevents ageing and it is good to prevent cancer also. Cherry fruits are very rich in stable anti-oxidant called melatonin which can cross the blood-brain barrier easily and produces soothing effects on the brain neurons, calming down nervous system irritability, which helps relieve neurosis and headache. This property also induces sound sleep. Drinking a black berry juice 30 minutes before bed will help in treating insomnia.

Regular intake of Cherry fruits will reduce water retention in our body and help in reducing heart diseases. Cherry fruits are very good for the treatment for fibromyalgia. Cherries reduce the excess uric acid levels and thus this fruit is very beneficial in treating Gout. Cherries are high in Potassium which helps to regulate heart rate and reduces bad cholesterol.
