Skin Tan: Home Made Recipes To Remove It

Skin tanning is a concern in a tropical country like India, where the sun's rays can be fairly harsh. However, the beauty of Indian culture resides in its ancient remedies that it offers. These remedies have provided us with a number of natural methods to combat skin tan. In this post, we will look at several ancient Indian ways for lightening and removing skin tan that have been utilised for decades.

In an interaction with OnlyMyHealth, Dr Ganesh Chaudhary, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), PHC, Darbhanga, Bihar, suggests some home remedies to remove skin tan.

Turmeric and Dahi Mask

Turmeric, known for its skin-brightening properties, is a staple in Indian skincare.

  • Mix 1 tablespoon of turmeric with 2 tablespoons of dahi to form a paste.
  • Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes before rinsing it off. The lactic acid in dahi exfoliates while turmeric brightens the skin.

Papaya contains enzymes that can exfoliate and lighten the skin.

  • Apply this mixture to your skin for 15-20 minutes before washing it off. Multani Mitti helps in cooling and cleansing the skin.

Cucumber and Tomato Pack

Cucumber is known for its cooling effect, while tomatoes contain natural acids that help lighten the skin.

  • Blend cucumber and tomato into a fine paste.
  • Apply this mixture to your skin and leave it on for 15-20 minutes before rinsing.
