
The Union Budget for the fiscal year 2020-21 is out! Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget in the parliament with all the major implementations imposed by the government for this financial year. The entire budget is divided into three prominent themes- aspiration, development & compassion.
Talking about the budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made a provision to increase the budget amount to Rs. 69 thousand crores for the health sector this year. Along with this, Sitharaman spoke of taking big steps by the government to promote the 'Fit India' movement to fight non-communicable diseases for the health and betterment of the countrymen.

Artificial Intelligence to be used for Ayushman Bharat scheme
- The number of hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat scheme will be increased, so that the scope of health support can be increased in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
- The help of the PPP model will be taken to enhance the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
- Hospitals will be added in two phases under this scheme.

Expansion of Jan Aushadhi Scheme
By 2024, Jan Aushadhi Kendra will be expanded in all districts of the country.

3.60 lakh crores for Jal Jeevan mission
The government aims to provide clean running water in every house. Along with that, they are also looking forward to establishing salt water treatment.
Other
- The central government will expand the Indradhanush Mission to cover 12 diseases and the addition of 5 new vaccines.
- Taxes on medical devices will be used to promote medical facilities.
- Medical colleges will be built on the PPP model.
- More and more medical colleges will be connected to district hospitals so that the gap between patients and doctors can be reduced.
- Work will be done to prevent the marriage of women at an early age. On which a task force will be formed for monitoring, which will work on it again in 6 months.
