Veteran Kannada actor Harish Rai, famous for his role as 'Chacha' in the blockbuster KGF series, has passed away at the age of 55. He died in Bengaluru after a long battle with thyroid cancer, according to official reports. Rai’s heartfelt performances earned him a special place in Indian cinema, especially for his supporting roles in KGF and films like Om. 

The actor appeared in over 90 films across Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu cinema, often playing memorable character and supporting roles that stayed with audiences long after the credits rolled. His passing has left fans and the film fraternity in deep sorrow.

Rai had been fighting thyroid cancer for several years. A video on his social media shows him going through a surgery. Each injection reportedly costs around ₹3.55 lakh, with a full cycle amounting to nearly ₹10.5 lakh. As the disease advanced, he experienced intense physical weakness and swelling in his stomach from fluid retention. It is a symptom known as ascites. His weight dropped drastically, and he struggled with fatigue and loss of appetite.

Despite these challenges, he stayed optimistic and appealed to his fans and colleagues for support. Many in the film fraternity and his fans stepped forward to help him financially and emotionally. He continued to inspire people through his positive attitude, even as his health declined.
