Proper hydration is essential for kidney health, as it helps the kidneys remove waste and toxins from the body more effectively.

Citrus fruits contain citrate, which can help prevent kidney stones by binding with calcium in the urine, reducing the formation of crystals that can lead to stone formation. Despite being acidic outside the body, citrus fruits have an alkalizing effect when metabolised, which can help neutralise acid in the body and reduce the risk of acidosis, a condition that can harm the kidneys.
