During the third trimester of a pregnancy there are major changes in the foetus and visible physical changes in the mother. A pregnant mother will gain about 1-2 pounds during this time; this is primarily because of the gain in weight of the foetus. The foetus continues to grow gaining weight and length and here the body systems have finished maturing. Definitely the foetus’ weight would take a toll on the mother.
