Dr. Murali Krishna is a distinguished Consultant Psychiatrist with close to two decades of specialist clinical experience spanning general psychiatry, old age psychiatry, and addiction psychiatry, across the United Kingdom and India. He currently serves as Visiting Consultant in Psychiatry & Counselling Services at Aster RV Hospital, Bangalore, and as Consultant Psychiatrist and Senior Research Fellow at Viveka Hospital, Mysore (since April 2018). He holds an MBBS, MRCPsych, MSc in Health and Social Care Research from the University of Sheffield (UK), a CCST (Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training, UK), and a PhD - a combination of qualifications that reflects the highest standards of psychiatric training and academic scholarship across India and the United Kingdom. Dr. Krishna completed his Basic Specialist Training in Psychiatry across Cambridge and Mersey Deanery, Liverpool, UK, followed by Higher Specialist Training in Adult and Old Age Psychiatry at Mersey Deanery, Liverpool. He subsequently served as Consultant Psychiatrist in Old Age and Adult Psychiatry at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, North Wales, UK, before returning to India in 2011 to serve as Consultant Psychiatrist and Wellcome Research Fellow at CSI Holdsworth Memorial Hospital, Mysore. His clinical expertise encompasses the management of mental disorders across working-age and older adult populations, with particular strengths in dementia and cognitive disorders, addiction psychiatry, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and cognitive stimulation therapies. A globally recognised researcher and clinician, Dr. Krishna was awarded the prestigious 2022–2023 Global Atlantic Brain Fellow Award by the Global Brain Health Institute, Dublin, and previously held an Early Career Public Health Fellowship (2012-2016) under the Wellcome UK-DBT India Alliance. He has received a Merit Certificate for his Master's Degree in Health and Social Care Research from the University of Sheffield (2010-2011) and is a member of multiple international research consortia contributing to global comparative studies in healthy ageing and psychiatric disorders. His work includes innovative contributions to mobile-app-based diagnostic tools for dementia, reflecting a forward-thinking approach to psychiatric care.
