The third wave of COVID-19 pandemic is expected to hit the country this year and it has been scaring everyone. Along with the Coronavirus disease, Delhi seems to be suffering from other range of problems as well. Talking about Covid-19, Delhi reported zero deaths and 32 fresh Covid cases with a positivity rate of 0.06 per cent. The total tally of cases has now reached 14,40,637. But, according to recent reports, the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital in Delhi has reported more dengue cases than Delhi's COVID-19 tally on a daily basis. As per the doctors at the Delhi government's main hospital, 20-25 new dengue patients get admitted daily, in fact, 40-50 are suspected cases of fever.
According to the doctors at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan hospital Director Suresh Kumar, even if the data of 3-4 years is compared, this year there is a major increase in the number of dengue cases. This is happening due to the prolonged monsoon and there are more mosquito breeding sites now.
