What we call fever is a rise in the body temperature, which usually occurs when the immune system is trying to fight bacteria and viruses that may harm the body. Usually, fever subsides within 2-3 days without medication, though it may last longer.
Here are a few home remedies to cure fever sooner than usual:
Drink plenty of water
Drink a lot of water when you are running a fever. This will help to replace fluids that are being lost, which is likely to make you dehydrated. Drinking ample amount of liquid will also help you bring down the body temperature.

Stay in pleast weather conditions
Try to stay in pleasant weather conditions and avoid a sudden change in weather. Also, you must not be covered with a lot of clothes and blankets to warm your body; the idea is to keep the temperature cool and pleasant.
Let the fever run its course
You must let the fever run its course if it does not exceed 102 degrees. This way your body actually fights the infections and removes toxins.
Avoid solid foods and drink juices
Try not to eat any solid foods until the fever subsides. You may replace this with juices and filtered water or eat soup.
Use holy basil leaves
Take a few Holy Basil (Tulsi) leaves, boil them in 2 cups of water and drink it. You may also add a few drops of honey when boiling it.
Honey, lime and ginger for treating fever
Take a spoonful of honey and add a few drops of lime and ginger juice to it. Drink this mixture and it would certainly treat common fever.
Put icepack on your forehead
Putting an ice pack or cloth dipped in ice cool water on your forehead would help you to temporarily cool your body’s temperature, and will thus relieve you from fever faster.
Drink grapefruit once a day
Drinking grapefruit juice can help cure common fever. Prepare the home remedy by taking ½ glass of grapefruit juice and adding equal quantity of water to the concentrated mixture. You may consume this mixture once a day to get relief from the burning sensation caused by high temperature.
Massage with an electric massager or a professional masseuse
Try to get an electric massager or a professional masseuse to get your arms, legs, neck, back and fingers massaged. This will help to reduce any fever related pain.
Above all, your priority when down with fever should be to take as much rest as you can. If that is boring, kill the boredom by reading a book, playing video games, cards, etc.
