"Consuming ghee during winter supports thermogenesis, which is the process through which the body generates heat,” Divya added.

Ayurveda recommends ghee to support digestion, particularly in winter, where gut fire or agni is said to be higher. "Ghee helps absorb nutrients better, which is especially helpful when eating high-fiber winter foods like seasonal greens, millets, and leafy vegetables," she said.

Ghee boasts vitamins A, E, D, and K-fat-soluble nutrients that help repair the skin, boost immunity, and maintain bone health. According to Divya, the essential fatty acids in ghee moisturise from within to fight dryness, flaky skin, chapped lips, and stiff joints-all common complaints when winter sets in.
