Hangovers are the body's way of reminding people about the hazards of overindulgence last night. From pounding headaches to stomach pain, fatigue, drowsiness and irritability, many of us are all too familiar with the long list of hangover symptoms that often follow after a night of heavy drinking. 1. Stay hydrated

Drinking alcohol leads to dehydration. However, dehydration is not the only cause of a hangover but it also contributes to many common hangover symptoms, such as increased thirst, fatigue, headache, and dizziness. Therefore, increasing your water intake may alleviate a few symptoms of hangover and potentially prevent them as well. It is also suggested that you stay hydrated throughout the next day.

2. Adequate sleep

Alcohol tends to cause disturbances to your sleep and sleeping patterns. The quality and duration of sleep seemingly decreases if you are an avid drinker. Lack of sleep does not cause hangovers, but  it can make them worse. Symptoms like headache, fatigue and irritability become worse as a result of inadequate sleep.
