Self Health Promises for Women
Here are some promises suggested by Dr. Sameer Bhati, Director of Star Imaging and Path Labs that you can make to improve your health:
Promise 1: Promise to drink more water
This is the best health promise you can make to yourself. Water is the solution to many health problems and if you are those many people who forget to drink water on regular intervals, then you must set water alarms for yourself. Dehydration leads to tiredness, poor concentration, headaches, weight gain and even kidney isssues. Remember, you NEED to have atleast 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. Keep this in your mind and drink a glass of water now!
Promise 2: Promise to monitor the vitals more regularly
You might go to a doctor every year for a important yearly health checkups, but trust us, that’s not enough. With the lifestyle that many of women are leading these days, it is important to keep monitoring the basic parameters like blood pressure, cholesterol, vision, glucose level, blood tests, etc. more often. The life of most of the women these days is filled with stress, sleep deprivation, late night work, long screen time, etc. So, it becomes crucial to get your vitals checked every now and then.
Promise 3: Promise to be physically and mentally active
This promise is a must to make. Physical and mental health is crucial and one should know how to take proper care of the same. Simply walking and running for 30 to 40 minutes a day will keep you physically fit. Also, for mental health you just need to worry a little less and try to indulge in the activities you like, a little more.
Promise 4: Promise to get all important tests done
Women, today, are facing a lot of health problems and diseases. That is why, it is important for a woman to get all necessary tests done so that one gets to know about her body more clearly. Tests like mammogram, diabetes, pelvic exam, pap smear, thyroid function test and lipid panel test are necessary. These would examine your organs and would let you know about any infection that may be at a starting stage.
Promise 5: Regular check-up for ovaries and uterus
It is important for women to go for regular check-ups in order to maintain their well-being, especially for uterus and ovaries. It is advised to get both of them checked with ultrasound, and with pap smear. This is important for women of all age groups to gt identified for underlying ovarian or uterus-related problems. Also, these help in analyzing your reproductive health and your chances of conception. The cases of infertility and miscarriages are on the rise owing to unhealthy lifestyle, obesity, stress, late marriages & conception. This further makes reproductive health checkups mandatory. Women who plan late pregnancies must keep good care of their reproductive organs to reduce the risk of pregnancy complications in future.
If you make these promises and keep them, it would benefit you and your health in many ways. This helps in healthy living and longevity. With reduced health risks, you are surely going to enjoy a healthy and hearty life.
