Professor Jean-François Delfraissy, a French epidemiologist has claimed that obese people are vulnerable to coronavirus along with those with pre-existing medical conditions.

Coronavirus is at its peak these days. We all need to stay preventive of this virus attack. Obese people need special care as they are susceptible to autoimmune diseases such as COVID-19. Research has found that obesity could be a potential carrier of coronavirus seeing the massive death rate in the USA where a major part of the population is overweight. Those with a BMI of 25 or over are at greater risk. The chances are greater in obese people who have any existing ailment. Here are some tips for obese people to stay preventive:

  • Firstly and most importantly, stay indoors.
  • Wear a mask if you are going out even for a short while.
  • Eat healthily and try to stay active.
  • Exercise at home and prevent sedentary living.
  • Eat immunity-booster foods and foods that are rich in Vitamin C.
  • Handwash often or use an alcohol-based sanitizer.
