The normal tendency when the body goes into a state of rest, fatigue, or tiredness is to grab a cup of tea or coffee. While coffee has some benefits, having it in excess can be counterproductive. Many people do not realise their addiction to caffeine, and thus, they take it in excess, harming their bodies. On giving up coffee or caffeine, people may experience dizziness, headache, high blood pressure, nervousness, heart palpitation, etc. Here are some ways to get more energy without having caffeine.

Drink Plenty Of Water

Not coffee, but the right amount of water in your body will boost your energy levels. A study done in 2013 found that healthy people who were dehydrated felt much more sleepy, less attentive, and unable to focus. To ensure that you meet the daily water requirements of the body, resolve to have little sips throughout the day.

You should drink at least two to three litres of water daily. But if you are suffering from any health condition, like kidney problems, that requires avoiding water, you should consider consulting your doctor.

Have Energy Boosting Diet

Another way you stay energetic without caffeine is by eating an energy-boosting diet. Your diet is like the fuel that runs your body. If you are not filling yourself with the right types of food, your body may not work properly. There is a wide variety of foods one should stay away from, like sugary and highly processed foods. These foods, though for a short period of time provide you with energy, can be harmful to your body. You should rely more on foods that provide fibre, proteins, and other nutrients naturally. You should replace your highly sugary and processed diet with green leafy vegetables and fruits like apples and fresh berries.

Use Sunlight

Sunlight is another option that can boost your energy levels without the use of caffeine. Sunlight not only uplifts your mood but also helps to increase the production of vitamin D in your body. Vitamin D is linked to many benefits, like improving bone health, the immune system, and energy. Vitamin D also helps to keep your muscle health intact and reduce fatigue.

Exercise Regularly

One of the reasons for your exhaustion is that you might not be exercising enough. In this situation, it is tempting to grab a cup of coffee to fix the exhaustion quickly. But give it a thought and think if you have exercised during that week. If you have not exercised recently, consider doing it now. This ensures good oxygenation in your body, improving mood and relieving stress.

Power Nap

You can also increase your energy levels by taking a power nap. Research suggests that naps help to improve memory, alertness, and energy. A nap of 10 minutes can immediately boost energy in a natural way.

Relieve Stress

Too much stress can also drop the energy levels of your body. The common tendency when the stress goes high is to move towards harmful stress relievers, which can cause harm in the long run, including caffeine. There are many ways to reduce your stress, like indulging in a hobby, talking to a friend, exercising, etc. You can also consider going to a therapist in cases of extreme situations of stress.

Avoid Electronic Devices Before Sleep

Using electronic devices that emit blue light at bedtime can interfere with your sleep. When your sleep is not proper, you tend to feel sleepy and exhausted. So, ensure that you are not using electronic gadgets just before going to sleep.

If these methods are not working for you, consider talking to your doctor as you might be suffering from some health condition, like anaemia. Your doctor will diagnose the exact cause of your exhaustion and prescribe you with a cure.
