  • Instead of looking for rejections, look for the signs of acceptance
  • To get over the fear of rejection, you need to focus on yourself
  • When you start feeling like a victim then negative feelings take over your mind

Have you ever felt constricted in a relationship? Take a moment and think about if you feel free and connected with your partner. When you live with a partner who is extremely judgemental and trigger the feelings of rejection, then the first and foremost thing that you should do is love yourself.

It can become difficult for you when you come face-to-face with such feelings. You often forget how to react in such situations and life can rather become difficult. The best way to overcome the fear of rejection is by taking it head-on. But how to do this?  Everything in life is uncertain and most relationships in our lives come with risks. Here are some ways you can overcome the fear of rejection and find your freedom:

Stop being insecure

When you think that everyone in your life will reject you for the way you are, you actually end up creating such situations. The insecurity makes you conscious about everything, which gives out signals to people that you can push them away from an increase in your fears. When your fears turn into reality that is when the fear delves deep into the mind and become a reality at every point of the way.

Instead of looking for rejections, look for the signs of acceptance. People around you will love you more if you give them a positive vibe.

Think positive and move forward

Like mentioned above, thinking positively promotes a positive outcome. To get over the fear of rejection, you need to feel positive and focus on what you want to achieve in life. Tell yourself "I will make the right decision" or "I will definitely come out of this situation" if you are stuck in a difficult situation.

Being vulnerable is some situations is okay

It is important to express your thoughts and feelings in a clear way. When you feel that something someone said is not acceptable and hiding your thoughts can prove dangerous for you and your relationship. You shouldn't keep your feelings inside and should be dealing with them to avoid bitterness in the relationship.

Don't be a victim

When you start feeling like a victim then negative feelings take over your mind. A negative view of life will only make it harder to cope with it. Irrespective of what your partner is saying (the negative things), you should focus on the strengths in your life that make you strong enough to tackle difficulties.

Develop realistic expectations

Most of the times expectations exceed reality but that is exactly how you shouldn't be. Expectations always lead to disappointments because as humans we always make mistakes - sometimes intentionally and sometimes unintentionally. So if your partner lets you down then don't assume that they did it intentionally. It can be a mistake made out of spite.

Lastly, remember this is not the end

Getting over rejection is not easy but it is not the end of the world. Dealing with it is the only way for you to overcome it. If you can survive with the negativity, you can survive the rejection. You were strong enough to face the rejection, soon enough you will be over it if you start focusing on the right things in life - yourself. People hurt us only when we allow them to do so. Do not let another person decide who you are and what you deserve. Your happiness lies in your own hands and you are the only one who can snatch it from the palms of someone who doesn't even deserve you.
