Lack of fluids in the body can lead to diarrhea or dehydration or excess fluids (in case of liquid diets) can lead to water retention.

Carbohydrates are the body's main source of energy. Most of the fad diets compel people to entirely cut down carbohydrates and fats from their diet. Due to which the person can feel lethargy and fatigue.
According to the National Eating Disorders Association, fad diet can lead to various health risks including higher chances of developing heart disease, diabetes, low blood pressure, kidney stone, nausea and headaches, weakness, lack of sleep, acidity, osteoporosis, broken bones, stress fractures, and reduced metabolism, etc.
According to CDC, a Fad diet is just a temporary solution for weight loss. But actually, they are considered unhealthy as they provide individuals with fewer calories and nutrients. They do not result in long-term weight loss, hence are not sustainable.
Continuing a special diet for long can be very costly as one has to spend a higher amount on purchasing a particular package of meals, supplements, etc.
According to facts, many people have reported having gained weight after discontinuing this tough and boring diet plan. Moreover, the weight which is lost comprises mainly of water and muscle tissues.
Tough to follow
Fad diets are quiet tough to maintain as they necessitate to eat unusually, smaller amount and similar food every day. Which gradually results in gaining more weight.
Several fad diets promote the restriction or elimination of entire food groups, which is not as healthy as a long-term weight-loss solution. Studies reveal that subsequent intake a fad diet for a longer period can lead to vitamin deficiencies and malnutrition.
However, there are certain ways by which one can lose weight and maintain it. Try to take a proper diet, including all the necessary nutrients for the body. You can add more fruits and veggies rich in fiber. Choose whole fruits instead of juice. Drink plenty of water every day. Eat small but more proportions of food. Eat good breakfast and never skip your meals. Avoid sugar and sweetened drinks like colas, preserved juices as they contain a high amount of added sugar which is very harmful to your body. Most importantly, keep track of your foods and figure out exactly what and how much you are eating. Apart from that add a workout in your regime.
